Chill is looking for a passionate Program & Community Coordinator to lead and deliver youth-focused boardsport programs (snowboard, skateboard, surf, and stand-up paddleboard) throughout Los Angeles. You’ll ensure every participant has a high-quality experience aligned with Chill’s mission and core values of Honesty, Equity, Progression, and Fun.
This full-time, year-round role blends program coordination, community building, gear management, and youth mentorship. You’ll report remotely to the Program Management team and work in a hybrid capacity — from home and on-site at program locations. A strong understanding of trauma-informed, equity-based youth work is essential.
Program Facilitation (25%)
Lead in-person Chill programs for 15–45 youth using established curriculum and activity plans
Guide agency partners and volunteer mentors during sessions
Collect and manage participant data and evaluations
Program Coordination (25%)
Coordinate scheduling and logistics with partners and vendors
Recruit and onboard agency partners, mentors, and contractors
Ensure transportation and payment logistics are confirmed and documented
Gear Management (20%)
Maintain and transport all program equipment and gear
Keep storage spaces organized and ensure all gear is in working order
Community Engagement (30%)
Maintain strong relationships with agency partners and mentors
Support alumni outreach and ongoing youth engagement
Contribute content for marketing, grants, and program reports
Required
2+ years of experience working with youth in professional settings
Must live in Los Angeles, CA and have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
Strong organizational and communication skills
Tech proficiency (Microsoft Office, Salesforce or similar platforms)
CPR/First Aid certified or willingness to obtain (training provided by Chill)
Comfortable working nights/weekends, outdoors, and lifting gear (up to 50lbs+)
Preferred
4+ years of residency in LA (strong familiarity with the community)
Experience leading groups of 20+ youth using equity-focused and trauma-informed practices
Boardsport experience (or willingness to learn)
Background in education, social work, youth development, or related fields
Experience managing volunteers or external partners
