Creative Director Full Time

This is a full-time on-site role for a Creative Director, based in Encinitas, CA. The Creative Director will lead the creative vision for the Hume brand while driving creative strategy, branding, and design excellence. Hume is looking for a hands-on Creative Director who can both think and make. This is not a “review decks and give feedback” role.

We need someone who can actually design emails, ads, social, landing pages, packaging, and presentations, while also owning the creative direction of the brand.

You’ll lead Hume’s creative across digital, retail, packaging, campaigns, and product launches, and work closely with Growth, E-comm, Sales, and Product to make sure the brand looks great and performs.

• Can design things yourself (emails, social, ads, decks, landing pages)
• Are as comfortable in Figma / Adobe as you are presenting ideas
• Think big but also ship work
• Care about how creative performs, not just how it looks

What You’ll Own

Brand & Campaigns

• Concept, present, and produce Hume’s marketing campaigns and brand storytelling across all channels
• Set and maintain Hume’s creative bar across DTC, retail, social, paid, and product

Packaging

• Edit, update, and evolve Hume’s packaging system
• Ensure consistency, quality, and premium execution across all SKUs

Website (DTC)

• Design and evolve landing pages, PDPs, and campaign pages
• Identify opportunities to grow revenue through better UX/UI and creative
• Explore new tools and technologies to improve the site experience
• Partner with dev for clean handoff and execution

Amazon

• Own and evolve Hume’s Amazon storefront and PDP creative
• Continuously improve how the brand and products show up on the platform

Retail & Sales Support

• Evolve how Hume shows up in physical retail environments
• Build sales decks, sell sheets, and retail materials that meet a high creative bar

Business Support

• Build and polish decks and presentations for internal and external use
• Ensure everything representing Hume meets brand standards

What We’re Looking For

You must:

• Be someone who can actually design (not just direct)
• Have strong brand experience (CPG is a plus, but not required)
• Have worked across both print and digital
• Have a strong portfolio / website showing real execution
• Have management experience or the ability to lead other creative
• Understand UX/UI and be able to design a landing page and hand it off to dev
• Have strong photo editing skills
• Have solid copywriting skills

You should also have:

• Motion graphics skills (After Effects)
• Basic video editing skills (Premiere)
• Ability to concept video shoots and clearly communicate vision to filmmakers and editors

Nice to have:

• Photography skills
• Understanding of action sports / outdoor / lifestyle culture
