Creative Project Manager Full Time NEW

Main Purpose of the Role

Outerknown, Firewire Surfboards, and Slater Designs are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and collaborative Creative Project Manager to drive operational excellence across our Marketing and Brand teams.

Working at the intersection of creative development, go-to-market execution, and project operations, you’ll ensure campaigns, content, and cross-functional initiatives move seamlessly from concept through to launch. You’ll be responsible for building scalable workflows, managing timelines, improving processes, and ensuring every team has the tools and assets they need to execute successfully.

This role partners closely with Marketing, Creative, Ecommerce, Wholesale, Product, Retail, International, and external partners, acting as the central point of coordination across the business. Success requires exceptional organisation, strong communication, and the ability to bring clarity and structure to a fast-moving creative environment.

This role requires four days per week in our Carlsbad office.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Project Management & Creative Operations

• Own the end-to-end marketing and creative workflow, from project intake through to launch and post-project review.
• Build and maintain project plans, timelines, seasonal calendars, and cross-functional workflows.
• Lead weekly project status meetings, ensuring clear accountability across teams and deadlines.
• Manage resource planning, prioritisation, and project scheduling across multiple initiatives.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and develop scalable systems, SOPs, and workflows that improve efficiency.
• Optimise creative asset management processes, ensuring teams can easily locate, access, and utilise assets within the Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform.

Go-to-Market Operations

• Coordinate seasonal go-to-market execution across Outerknown, Firewire Surfboards, and Slater Designs.
• Build and maintain GTM calendars across Asana and Excel.
• Ensure briefs are submitted on time, complete, and aligned with launch requirements.
• Coordinate delivery of campaign assets, product storytelling tools, launch kits, and sales enablement materials to Wholesale, Retail, Ecommerce, and International teams.
• Manage launch timelines, milestone tracking, and cross-functional alignment.
• Lead monthly Go-to-Market meetings using a rolling 30/60/90-day planning framework.
• Conduct launch post-mortems, combining performance data and stakeholder feedback to improve future campaigns.

Creative Development Support

• Partner with Creative teams to manage project timelines, production schedules, reviews, approvals, and final delivery.
• Coordinate briefing, routing, review, and approval of campaign creative, photography, video, retail assets, and digital content.
• Ensure creative work is delivered on time, on brand, and aligned with business priorities.
• Own project management workflows within Asana, maintaining organised briefing, review, and approval processes.
• Ensure all required approvals are completed prior to launch.
• Act as the central coordination point between departments to streamline communication and accelerate asset delivery.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with Marketing, Creative, Product, Ecommerce, Wholesale, Retail, International, and external vendors.
• Support the execution of brand campaigns, product launches, retail activations, and marketing initiatives.
• Assist the CMO with marketing planning and departmental meetings.
• Improve communication and project visibility across all stakeholders.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors on production, budgeting, timelines, and delivery of trade marketing materials.
• Ensure Wholesale and Retail partners receive accurate, on-time marketing assets and campaign support.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in Creative Project Management, Marketing Operations, Creative Operations, or Go-to-Market Management.
• Experience managing cross-functional marketing and creative workflows within consumer, apparel, lifestyle, or retail brands.
• Strong experience with Digital Asset Management platforms (Bynder preferred).
• Advanced knowledge of project management tools such as Asana (preferred), Monday.com, Airtable, or similar.
• Outstanding organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Comfortable working within entrepreneurial, collaborative teams.
• Passion for brand storytelling, operational excellence, and process improvement.
• Experience supporting apparel, lifestyle, or consumer brands preferred.
• Familiarity with ecommerce workflows and digital content publishing.
• Experience building scalable processes and operational systems from the ground up.
• Understanding of Wholesale, Retail, and International marketing operations is highly regarded.
