Events Manager Full Time NEW

About the role

The World Surf League is seeking an experienced Events Manager to join our team in Coolangatta, Queensland. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in the seamless execution of our world-class surfing events, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently from start to finish.

What you’ll be doing

• Overseeing all logistical planning and on-site operations for World Surf League events
• Coordinating with various stakeholders, including venue managers, sponsors, and volunteers, to deliver exceptional experiences for athletes, spectators, and partners
• Managing event budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure events are delivered on time and on budget
• Develop key event safety and site plans
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving any issues that arise during events, and implementing contingency plans as needed
• Continuously seeking ways to improve event operations and implement innovative solutions
• Set, communicate and manage timelines and priorities on specific events
• Conduct and chair regular event meetings including all relevant parties
• Maintain regular communication with the event teams and across other divisions in the company both at HQ and Regional Offices.
• Ensure event permits and event insurance are in place.
• Other tasks may be assigned from time to time which contribute to the overall success of the WSL Tour

What we’re looking for

• Extensive experience (5+ years) in large-scale event operations, preferably within the sports or entertainment industry
• Essential experience specifically within the sports or entertainment industry
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex events, budgets, and stakeholder relationships
• Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Site Management experience
• Experience using mapping software such as AutoCAD or Sketchup
• Willingness to develop AutoCAD or SketchUp proficiency with training provided
• Forklift licence (desirable)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
• Passion for the sport of surfing and a keen understanding of the World Surf League’s brand and events
• Australian work rights are required for this position
